BREEDSNEK BRUISER
Rewind to a time when bikes were simple, facial hair was cool and riding down a gravel road downhill inspired some forward-thinking hippies to start a whole new sport.
The TREAD Repack Revival, a part social, part competitive outing to celebrate the birth of mountain biking, will take place in the Magaliesberg mountain range (date to be finalised).
All activities will be held on the Breedsnek downhill (the northern slope) and will include:
• The Plunge – free-for-all-descend-at-your-own-pace ride (bring a sense of adventure)
• The Plummet– a timed descent for those who think they’ve got gravity and physics all worked out (bring your medical aid details)
For the Plummet, riders will be grouped into four categories according to bike:
• HIPPIE SHAKERS: Cruiser/klunker/bomber-style bike (no shocks, no disc brakes, flat pedals)
• HAPPY HARDTAILS: Any hardtail
• SHOCKY HORRORS: Any suspension mountain bike
• DOWNHILL DEMONS: Any downhill bike
