Holding the TREAD flag high

By TreadMag on 2009/12/09
By Sarah Wielopolska, Kenya

Very high in fact... we were racing at an altitude of 2100m above sea level! The Tigoni Kevin Payne Cup is a tough 40km mountain bike race held just north of Nairobi every year. The course is just AMAZING! True mountain biking with plenty of single track and beautiful scenery as you ride around some neon green tea farms and over streams and through forests. Its a tough course with PLENTY of climbing but the ‘bob sled’ run makes it all worth it. There are only ever a handful of girls at races in Kenya, the cycling scene here is much smaller than in SA. I finished first amongst the ladies and was very happy to receive a Garmin for my efforts.

I wore my TREAD shirt with pride!

Any other TREAD representatives are welcome to come join us for some fun races and beautiful riding here in Kenya!
